Jesus D. is going through radiation and on strong medications. He was diagnosed in June 2024 with Esophageal cancer. He had a feeding tube for 8 months. Likewise, he got down from 166 to 112 pounds in body weight.
He has no children or a wife. He lives in Fort Worth and was born there. Furthermore, he had treatment the day our volunteers spoke to him and was weak and troubled with speaking. He is fighting and hanging on. He worked on a freeway construction crew for years before cancer became a challenge.
Likewise, he is very grateful for the people around him, doctors, caregivers, and others who are trying to help him and support him, including the Mankind organization. Jesus said when he recovers, he plans to be a force for good and someone who is active bringing hope and faith to other people stricken by cancer. Thank you, Mankind community for supporting Jesus in his time of crisis.
